What makes your products sustainable?
Our main criteria for sustainability comes down to three questions:
- Does the product reduce waste, especially plastic waste?
- Does it offer a way to reuse a frequently disposable product?
- Can it be recycled at the end of its life? Also, how likely is this going to be successful?

Some secondary questions we ask are:
- Is this product easy to use?
- Does it suit the purpose for which it is intended, that is, does it work well?
- Will it fit in to my life (allowing for an adjustment month lol)?
- Has it been manufactured sustainably?
- Will it support like minded business practices?

What products do you offer?

How do Sustainable Fundraising campaigns work?
Sustainable Fundraising provides eco-friendly items that you can use to raise funds for your school or organisation.  There are a few ways you can fundraise with these popular items, via campaigns or events.

Take Home Method: Each fundraising participant takes home a carry bag of chosen products. They sell the items in that bag, and return the money to the school or group. This method requires purchasing items beforehand, and you can return unsold items after the campaign has ended.

Order Form method:  Each participant takes home information and an order form, and collects orders and money. You collate the orders at the end of the campaign, then let us know the quantities required for every product - you will be responsible for all money collection and handling.  Within two weeks, your order will be delivered directly to your school, for you to distribute to families.

For Order Form campaigns, we will invoice you for the total, plus shipping, due before delivery.

Online Ordering method:  The most sustainable method, and the most popular. You can run a Fundraising Campaign online only, or with Order Forms.  Once you have registered with us, your families can purchase directly from our store, and nominate your school/group to receive the fundraising profit.  This applies for every item purchased at our 'Shop & Donate' store, www.sustainablefundraising.nz, all the time.

During your campaign, shoppers can use a custom discount code, for free shipping to the school/group.

At the end of the campaign, we will provide you with a list of all the online orders taken during your campaign. We add these to your order form totals, if applicable. You will be invoiced for all the purchased items, shipping, and online processing fees. Payment is due before we deliver two weeks later.

Once we deliver, you will be responsible for distributing the orders to your families, unless you make prior arrangements with us.

Stall/Display Method:  Sustainable Fundraising products make wonderful stall items - they are bright, cheerful and easy to take home and put to use. We've been doing event based fundraising for years and know that you need easy products and a simple process. This is as simple as it gets - set up a sustainable fundraising stand at your next school event, purchase what you think you will sell, and return any unsold items afterwards for a refund.

Are there any upfront costs?

Take Home Campaign  Yes, a deposit or full amount is due prior to shipping.

Product Campaigns  There is NO upfront cost for Product Campaigns, online or offline.
You pay for the products once your orders are collated, based on the orders you take in. Due date is the date of dispatch.

Stalls & Display Campaigns For Fundraising Events you DO pay in advance for most products.
Any unsold products can be returned in their original condition, after the event, for a full refund.

Sample Packs  Not usually. We will invoice you for the sample pack, due within 14 days unless you return the pack to us prior.
The cost of the Sample Pack is fully refundable on return and we can provide a return courier ticket on request.

If you are an individual fundraiser, you will need to supply proof of your fundraising venture, and pay up front.

Online Payment Processing Charges: We charge 3.7% of ALL online orders taken by sustainablefundraising.nz to cover the the processing fees we pay. This fee will be included on your invoice, deducted from your fundraising profit amount. We are investigating a user-pays fees system, and are open to alternative ideas if you have them!

Is there a delivery fee?
Yes, in most cases. When you place your final campaign order we will calculate the best shipping rate based on the order size and your location. This cost will be added to your invoice. We have strong long-term freight networks and do our best to keep shipping as low as possible.

Can we return unsold items?
Yes, in most cases.  Returns are accepted of items in their original condition. We cannot accept returns of damaged, split packs, used, or otherwise unsalable items.

Is there a minimum order?
No, however some items are sold in sets, and you may have to provide proof of your fundraising venture to order low quantities as an individual.

How much should we order?
Most groups will set targets for their participants, which will help determine how many units you need. We recommend you give your community members an opportunity to opt out of the fundraiser before it starts, so that you maximise the participation levels, and you won't be chasing up people who aren't interested.

When should we order?
You should tell us before you're running a Campaign, so that we put the items aside for you. Seed Bombs Campaigns are best run in terms 2 and 3, to allow for good growth.  It's a good idea you put together a fundraising calendar, and plan out when you will do which campaigns.

What does my school get?
Each product sold makes a great profit for your school, ranging from $3 to $6.50.

Just as importantly, these campaigns are going to make a big difference to the way we treat our earth. Every Sustainable Fundraising product makes a difference: some will reduce landfill contents, by swapping single use plastic for reusable, longer lasting materials, and others encourage nature's most excellent methods of bringing sustainable balance.

You can buy ALL our eco-friendly products at www.sustainablefundraising.nz. We don't hide where they're from, so you could go support them instead. The difference is, we'll donate the profit to your nominated school or group.

Are your products made in New Zealand?
Yes and no. We love to support local businesses and always try to source a supplier within New Zealand.  Sometimes, due to affordability and availability, this simply isn't viable. We are proud of all the connections we have with our suppliers, and you can find out where each products is made by reading the online description.

Do you ship internationally?
